Population Control

It’s an issue that worries world leaders
but politicians never discuss
A problem that is mathematically destined
to eventually face us

It may not burden us now,
But it will affect our offspring
It’s something hard to disallow
that seems beyond our controlling

It’s the population of human beings
It Is rapidly increasing
The world is overpopulating
We have to put a ban on breeding

But, It’s hard to stop human nature
Or moderate the human birth rate
Government can’t entirely control behavior
But they can limit our expiration date

and increase our mortality rate…

Maybe this is why war exists
why AIDS has no cure
and why poverty persists
but, what happens when the world’s capacity pushes it’s limits
I fear that government is already trying to solve this
Well, if Mother Nature doesn’t do the trick…

Human Nature

We live in a world of war, not peace
There is no cure, we are diseased
by our violent nature and inherent greed
is not kind
We live to expand, conquer and breed

Give and take
subjected lives
The crave for war
never dies

Humans as trade
a nations investment
Misguided warfare
only fueling resentment

Excused target
Islamic Terroism
Blind devotion
a soldiers heroism

Political interference
a foreign civil war
the recurring question,
What are we fighting for?

Imposing values of corrupt politicians
only further enraging a timeless confliction

The Day That I Knew That War Was Real

The day that I knew that war was real
was a day I will never forget
aired lived on international television
2,993 deaths
murdered by our own weapons
commercial airliner jets

The day that I knew that war was real
was the day that it hit home
The day that I knew that war was real
was the day we were the target
